Every year on the third or fourth Wednesday in October, a very special event comes around — the Day of Unity, or Unity Day, as it is commonly called, which is celebrated on October 19th this year. This is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month, also celebrated in October.
Students at Lawrence Primary School wore orange in unity and completed classroom activities focused on celebrating standing together for kindness, acceptance and inclusion. This topic is a focus within our social emotional learning curriculum throughout the school year and is incorporated in our school motto as each we day we remember to read, write, think and be kind.
