Art

From February 8th through April 7th, the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook will present  the Colors of Long Island: Student Expressions. Traditionally, the theme, “Colors of Long Island,” allows for many creative interpretations.  While some students refer to Long Island’s landscapes, others prefer to focus on the cultural diversity that makes Long Island so beautiful.  This annual exhibit gives hundreds of students from across Long Island an opportunity to display their work in a museum setting.

We are proud to share that two students from Lawrence Primary School will have their artwork on display at the exhibit. Pictured below are our featured artists: Jaretzmy Reyes Calerson, Grade 3, and Hugo Moreno Soza, Grade 2, who stand proudly with their letters of congratulations from the organization.

Mrs. Young, art teacher from Lawrence Primary School said, "The theme, Colors of Long Island, allows for various creative interpretations and that's what makes this show so exciting." Thank you to Mrs. Young for always engaging our students in these opportunities to display their creativity and highlight their artistic talent.
