Grade 1 students in Ms. Brescio's class came together with Grade 2 students in Ms. Brites's class to the Kindness Cafe to work on a variety of social emotional activities. The Kindness Cafe is a place where students gather to work together and support their learning of social emotional skills.
Grade 3 students learned about bridges and then put their engineering skills to work building web bridges using cups, tape, and yarn!
The third Wednesday of October is National Unity Day and students are encouraged to wear the color orange to deliver the message that no child should ever experience bullying. On this day, we also show unity for kindness, inclusion, and acceptance. Orange is the chosen color due to it being associated with visibility and safety. This color is seen as warm and inviting.
Grade 1 students in Ms. Salzberg's class created fire hats leading up to Fire Safety Day in which students learn practices to help prevent fires and recognize the work of the firefighters.
