  • The two novels have similar themes of friendship and perseverance, though their settings are quite different.

Senior News

Good morning Seniors! Your Senior Breakfast will be next Wednesday September 16 during Periods 2 and 3. You will be called down in your 2nd period class. If you have any food allergies or dietary needs, you must fill out the Breakfast form in the Senior Google Classroom by Monday. This accommodation will be noted for all future events.

The Senior Class will also be selling drinks Friday 9/11 in the lobby during the lunch periods.

A Message from Administration

Attention 11th and 12th grade students! On Thursday, September 17th, you have the opportunity to attend Career Jam Launch at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

This FREE event gives you the chance to explore different careers, connect with local businesses and professionals, and learn about internships, apprenticeships, and job opportunities.

ELA teachers will be handing out permission slips today in class. Completed permission slips should be turned into the Main Office.

Space is limited and first come, first serve, so make sure to get your permission slip in as soon as possible!

Homecoming

Dear Homecoming Volunteers! The sign-up will be closed today, right after school. We are meeting in 121 today, Monday, Sept.14 to discuss how we can make this event mist Pumped up ever! See you right after 2:36 pm in rm. 121. Ms. Bayeva

Math Club

Join Math Club in celebrating curiosity, critical thinking, and the power of numbers to transform the world. Participate in the American Mathematics Competition. Join likeminded thinkers once a week for an afternoon of fun every week. Math Club meets on Mondays after school in 247 with Ms. Mazzarino.

SGA

It's finally time for our Freshman Student Government Elections! Being an officer requires leadership, versatility, and showing up for your classes. Elections will start on Wednesday, September 16, and will be closed on Thursday on the 17th. Posters are due Tuesday, September 15th. To run, you must have good academic standings and good attendance. If you have any inquiries, please talk to Mr. Ziff or the SGA officers, Corey Shakur, Joel Rodriguez, Rosmel Escorcia, and Matthew Arce. Good luck!

Hebrew Cultural Club

The Hebrew Cultural Club meets every Wednesday in room 222. You do not need to know Hebrew or be affiliated with any particular religion. We are all one here, so come on by!

Multi-cultural Club

The Multi-Cultural Club will be having its first meeting thursday, September 17 in room 222. Come on by and be part of this year's planning of events and possibly earn a position on the board. This is your opportunity to bring a little fun into your school year.

Math Department

Congratulations to members of the orchestra and chorus who performed for September 11th ceremonies at our LHS and at Cedarhurst Park on Friday. These students used their talents to affect others in a positive and impactful way. This is an outstanding example of serving their community. Their patriotic performances were beautiful, thought provoking and inspiring. Key Club

Good Morning Lawrence.

The Key Club Will have it's first meeting of the year this Wednesday in room 319. The Key club is a well-known club that focuses on giving to our Lawrence community. All are welcome.

Asian American Club

Hello Lawrence! Please join the Asian American Club for their first meeting this Tuesday in room 319. A cultural club that focuses on crafts, history and traditions. All are welcome to attend.

SADD

This Thursday we will be having a Students Against Destructive Decisions club meeting. If you are interested in the SADD club please come and join us. We will be preparing for our school year and nominating our board, The meeting will be in room 340 right after school. Any questions please see Mr. Ravo.
