Latin American Club

We’d like to share that Hispanic Heritage Month is a month-long celebration of Hispanic and Latino history and culture. While we celebrate Hispanic and Latino communities beyond this month, from September 15 to October 15, we give extra recognition to the many contributions made to the history and culture of the United States, including important advocacy work, vibrant art, popular and traditional foods, and much more." Today I would like to share a quote by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, author famous for pioneering magical realism in literature. His works explored themes of solitude, love, and the human experience, becoming influential in Latin American literature and beyond. The Garcia Marquez quote that resonates with me is: "What matters in life is not what happens to you but what you remember and how you remember it." In the spirit of la familia and la comunidad, may this month be filled with warmth and connection as we celebrate Hispanic heritage.
