LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (DECEMBER 2023)—Lawrence High School students from Ms. Jeannine Cammarata’s Spanish class and Ms. Lauren Bocketti’s French and Italian classes had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of art during a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The students were particularly excited to see El Greco’s Vista de Toledo. They were able to appreciate the intricate details and vibrant colors of the artwork in person, deepening their understanding and connection to the piece.

In addition to El Greco’s masterpiece, the students also had the chance to explore other renowned works of art. They were captivated by the vibrant and expressive paintings of Matisse, the serene landscapes of Monet, and the unique and whimsical sculptures of Botero. The visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art provided the students with a valuable opportunity to expand their knowledge and appreciation for the artists they learned in class.
