Latin American Club
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, today we will commemorate Sylvia Rivera, who was from Venezuelan and Puerto Rican descent. She was homeless at very young age, then developed into bright young women who fought for trans and gay rights. Did you know that Sylvia Rivera had the T in LGBTQ+ added in? As a trans woman herself, she fought for inclusion and without her, today’s acronym would not be the bright and beautiful acronym we have today.
