National Art Honor Society

Advisor: Mrs. Ganes

The National Art Honor Society is a national organization, and our chapter is for art students in grades 10-12. These motivated students excel in art classes and demonstrate leadership. Art teachers recommend sophomores and juniors as probationary members. Those who are inducted have completed the mandatory 8 hours of voluntary service, and maintain at least a 90 average in art. The special induction ceremony is held in June. Through the opportunities of NAHS, members participate in a variety of school and community art activities and attend field trips to art museums. Several examples are: installing artwork in the Christina Mazzitelli Gallery, creation of murals, and volunteering with special art projects. The NAHS strives to support members in their goal of attaining the highest standards in art, and to bring visual arts education to the attention of the school and community. NAHS Club meetings are Wednesdays at 2:45 twice a month.
