Homecoming is a long time Lawrence Public School tradition of welcoming back former residents, student athletes, and alumni to Lawrence High School to participate in a parade through the town and to end up at the high school to watch a varsity football game!!!

Homecoming Club begins well before classes begin in September. We are accountable for setting up and carrying out many tasks; here is a list of some of our responsibilities:

·        Contact Town of Hempstead and Cedarhurst Village officials and Nassau County Police Commissioner in order to procure a date, parade permits and parade routes for the HOMECOMING parade.

·        Get together with the superintendent, principals, teachers, music department, alumni, students, custodians, local businesses, Police Dept., Fire Department, EMTs, and parents to coordinate a schedule of events and to set a plan for lining up and marching the day of the parade.

·        Select a committee to begin a school election for HOMECOMING ROYAL COURT

·        Select a HOMECOMING GRAND MARSHAL

·        Decorate the school for SPIRIT WEEK and decorate the SHOWCASE in the main lobby of the high school.

·        Run the election in school for HOMECOMING ROYAL COURT.

·        Put together entertainment for the PEP RALLY the day before the HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME

·        Be present early for the day of the parade and be able to decorate the stands and the field for the football game.

·        This year WE ARE ALSO CELEBRATED 125 YEARS OF LAWRENCE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
